Ad Account Connection Errors

Self-serve8–12 min readTroubleshooting

Common errors when connecting Meta and TikTok ad accounts and how to resolve them.

Error: "Insufficient permissions" when connecting Meta

Your Facebook account needs to be an Admin of the Business Manager that owns the ad account. Log into Business Manager (business.facebook.com), go to Users → People, verify your account shows as Admin. If you are an Employee, ask the Admin to re-authorize the connection or elevate your permissions.

Error: "Ad account not found"

The ad account may be in a different Business Manager than the one you authorized. Settings → Integrations → Meta → Reauthorize. When the OAuth window appears, select the correct Business Manager from the dropdown before approving.

Error: TikTok connection fails with "Invalid Redirect URI"

This is a TikTok Business Center configuration issue. In TikTok Business Center → My Apps → Lead Gen AI Suite → Edit → ensure the Redirect URI matches exactly: https://app.leadgenai.com/oauth/tiktok/callback. No trailing slash, exact case.

Error: "Ad account is disabled"

The ad account has been flagged or disabled by Meta/TikTok. This must be resolved directly with the ad platform — the Lead Gen AI Suite platform cannot re-enable disabled accounts. Go to Meta Business Support or TikTok Ads support, submit an appeal, and reconnect after re-activation.
